REPEAT CHAMPIONS!!!!

Landmark Boys repeat as NACA Div. IV Champions!

The Eagles knock off a tough well-coached Shekinah Christian team from Columbus, OH to win the NACA Division IV Championship for the second year in a row. The boys held off a late rush from Shekinah to secure the 57-46 victory. Eric Head led the way with 21 points and was named the Tournament's Offensive MVP after averaging 25.5 pts per game. Peter Jackson was named the tournament's Defensive MVP for the second straight year. Pete also won the Slam Dunk Contest.

 NACA HOMESCHOOOL GIRLS NATIONAL CHAMPS!!

The Landmark Girls knock off the very tough Hope Christian 44-34 to secure the inaugural NACA Homeschool National Championship. Rachel Young led the Lady Eagles with 16 points and Anna Davis scored 14 and was unanimously voted the Tournament's Most Outstanding Player.

                               Landmark Eagles Lose Biggest Fan

The Landmark Eagles lost their biggest fan on Tuesday, February 26, 2008.  Mark Cottings (Sondra Head's father) passed away as we were heading down to the national tournament in Tennessee. Sondra immediately headed home, but Eric ("Papaw would want me to finish this"), Devon and Tom went on with the Landmark Teams.

After the championship, we were given a banner, a four-foot trophy, plaques, and T-shirts as our rewards. A large crowd applauded for us, the tournament winners. The rewards and applause were nothing, however, compared to the heavenly awards and the applause of angels for a man who had finished. The exciting reality is that the rewards in heaven are not just for those who win, but for all who finish. According to Scripture, Mark's awards include: The Crown of Righteousness ("I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now, there is in store for me the Crown of Righteousness"); The Crown of Life ("Blessed is the man who perserves under trial, because when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life"); The Crown of Glory ("And when the Chief Shepherd appears you will receive the Crown of Glory that will never fade away"). What a great day for Mark!

We had so much fun winning that tournament! The kids were so excited, but it does not compare to the thrill of Heaven. If you are not sure of your place in Heaven, and do not know Jesus as Lord and Savior, the Landmark Eagles Basketball Program invites you to click here and take the steps to make sure you are with us on that Grand Awards Day.
